I have a new bedtime companion   #nightguard #tuesdaythoughts

It’s not what you think!

It’s a night guard for my teeth, because apparently I grind my teeth in my sleep. I don’t remember grinding, but I do wake up with a sore mouth. Also, by looking at my dental x-rays, it was determined that the right side of my mouth is “filed down.”

I went to the dentist first thing this morning (8:30 is pretty early for me) to pick up the night guard and have the final “fitting.” It is a semi-clear plastic thing that is installed over my top teeth. Yes, I am afraid it will come loose while sleeping. Thanks for asking.

I figured the best way to get used to this thing is to wear it during the day, while I am upright and less likely to choke on it. Ugh. I’m not looking forward to that.

In other news, I had a very busy week last week, and as you may (or may not) have noticed, I didn’t post any blogs. I overbooked myself. Wednesday night attended a writing class. It’s all about how to build characters. This is very difficult for me, as I don’t invent characters when I write, but normally embellish people, places, and things that exist, and twist them so they are not recognizable. I’m sure I will be using the same methods, for now.

Thursday night of course, is choir practice. I’m not lip syncing as much as I was in the early days, but I still have a way to go to let my voice out. Working on that also.

Friday I had a nice visit with my mother-in-law. Saturday was an all-day “training”. I’ll say no more on that. 😉

Sunday, I went to church and sang in the choir, came home and walked Bailey, and then took a 5-hour “nap.” I couldn’t “people” anymore.

This week’s schedule is busy, but not crazy.

I apparently have time to blog.

Have a good day everyone!

  1. I told my dentist that my molars were rounded because my significant other’s anxiety prescription wasn’t working. He clenched his jaw continually during the day. So we both talked like Marlon Brando as the Godfather, and saved money not buying calcium supplements. Remember: strong jaw muscles will lift a double chin!
