I passed the Vomit Test

Yesterday, I had a Balance Test at the Ear, Nose and Throat doctor office. They put blackout goggles on me and uncovered the left eye. There was a camera inside that could watch my right eye. First,  I watched a bunch of boxes go by, to the left, and then to the right. Then watched the box move around the screen.

Then they put the other eye patch on and ran water into my ears, first cold water into the right ear. Not fun. Then the left ear. Then hot water into the right ear. Then hot water into the left ear. Talk about dizzy! Yikes. My stomach was flip-flopping too. Thankfully, they warn you ahead of time not to eat 5 hours before the test. So I did *not* vomit. Yay.

Mr. Porter picked me up after the test, I would never attempt to drive after that fiasco. Of course, it was a bright sunny day so there were accidents all over which impeded travel. It took 1 1/2 hour to get home.

Earlier in the day my doctor appointment for today had gotten canceled and rescheduled. But wait, I forgot to call the shuttle service and cancel.

So while I was waiting for the cleaners to show up at 9 am, 10 am, still not showing up, wondering if I had the daze (get it?)  incorrect, the Shuttle Van pulled into my driveway. Whoops. I ran outside in my socks, no shoes and apologized profusely. The driver was very kind.

The cleaner service called and said they were running late. No worries. I obviously don’t know what’s what anyway. And I’m obviously not going anywhere. Then I noticed my feet were uncomfortable and wet from walking in the dewy lawn to talk to the Shuttle driver. Yuck. Wet socks.

Then I got a follow-up call from a Neurologists’ Office that I can come in tomorrow. Okay, I need to find a ride. I don’t want to miss the window of opportunity for this Neurologists’ appointment.

Shuttle service is booked up for tomorrow. I tried a few friends from Bible study. Nope, they are busy.  I am penciled in with a friend of my son’s–if the schedule works out tomorrow.  Someone recommended Uber, but I have not taken that step yet. Anyone have experience with Uber?
