A look at NOT Looking Back.
Sometimes in life, the best answer to the problem is to make a clean break. Here are a few quotations with that idea in mind:
“Don’t look back, you’re not headed that way!” — unknown origin, but a darn good idea. Simple, yet elegant.
“Sometimes you have to take the leap, and build your wings on the way down.” ( Kobi Yamada). I personally like this one. I tend to make quick decisions, for better or worse, and then I gotta live with the consequences!
“When you go into a house, stay there until it is time to leave. If the people in the town will not welcome you, go outside the town and shake their dust off of your feet, as a warning to them. “ — Jesus, Luke Chapter 9, verses 4 and 5. This quote has a lot to do with the culture at the time– shaking the dust off your feet was an insult. So in this particular instance, Jesus did NOT say “turn the other cheek.”
“Take this job and shove it, I ain’t working here no more.” –lyrics by David Allen Coe, made famous in the song by Johnny Paycheck. I’ve done this twice I think. I left a job and there ain’t no wayyy they are gonna hire me back. It felt wonderful.
“Don’t look back, a new day is breakin’, it’s been too long since I felt this way, I don’t mind where I get taken, the road is calling, today is the day.” — lyrics by Torstein Flakne, song by BOSTON. Boston was popular when I was in high school. I kind of think of this song as moving on, after the drama of high school was over.
“Thank God and Greyhound you’re gone!” — Roy Clark. In this song, the other person left, but oh, what a sigh of relief!
“We’re done here.” — origin unknown. I used it once to kick some shady siding salesmen out of the house.

Bad situations and bad people suck our energy out of us. Sometimes it’s best to move on.
….we’re done here…. 😉
