Mornings with A. W. Tozer part 1 #Fire #LindseyStirling

My bible study group is reading The Pursuit of God by A.W. Tozer, originally published in 1948. Tozer’s style of writing is not what we are used to; his sentences have a different cadence than modern writers. Sentence structure is longer. The spiritual truths Tozer shares are deep. We have decided as we study this book to read one chapter per week, and re-read the chapter each day of the week.

This week we read Chapter 3, Removing the Veil. The mention of FIRE struck me hardest. Working on things we are passionate about that give us fire in our hearts, makes life more enjoyable. We watch people on the Cooking Channel who are passionate about food, and they are alive with pleasure.  (Sidenote: remember when “alive with pleasure” was an old ad campaign for a brand of cigarettes?!)

The Lord wants us to push in, beyond the veil, to a closer relationship with Him. That’s where the fire is–in His presence.

I would like to share this song with you. It’s from Lindsey Stirling’s album Shatter Me.

While it is mostly instrumental featuring her very unique violin playing, a young woman’s voice is heard saying “Hi”, or it could be the Japanese “hai” which means “yes”. (My interpretation and I’m sticking to it.)

The voice begins kind of randomly, like she is trying and stumbling to get into God’s timing, but as she keeps going, her “hai” or “yes” finds the groove, the right timing.

Beyond the Veil all things are possible.
