Have you seen “the movie”?

Lately, when someone asks, “Have you seen the movie?” everyone knows which movie they are talking about.

The Sound of Freedom is the movie.

If you haven’t seen it, go see it.

SPOILERS below:

One of the things that amazed me about the main character, Tim Ballard, is that he quit his job to go find the little girl. He was ten months away from his retirement being vested. He had a wife and seven children of his own to take care of. Most Christians would say, “A man needs to take care of his own household,” and mock him for following the call of God. His wife helped him make this decision. I’m sure he agonized with the decision: Should I go rescue this eleven-year-old girl who is being raped every day, or do I “let someone else do it,” stay home, work at my job, get my retirement, take care of my own children. I think most people would do the latter. But his conscience would not let him take the “easier” road.

MANY times, God calls us to do things that make no sense in the natural. Even Christians will look at us and say, “What are you doing?”

Can we believe for God to take care of us, especially when it looks impossible?

Rescue those who are being taken away to death;

hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.

If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,”

does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?

Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it,

and will he not repay man according to his work?

(Proverbs 24:11-12)

  1. Just want to thank you for having such a terrific blog. Many times in my day I need something to lift me or just ground me in reality with the knowledge that God is always present. You just add a little something good to my life.
    Thank you 🙂
