My friend Darleen is on probation for 99 years in Disney World. Well, actually 34 of those years have passed, so it’s only 65 more years to go!
It was on our high school senior trip that we went to Walt Disney World in Florida. Darleen had gotten separated from Maddie and I, and took off with a guy named Dan. Ok, that happens.
Later, we saw Darleen and she was yelling, “Come here, come here!” I thought she was messing around, so I said, “No, YOU come here!” It was then that I noticed that she was crying. Now Darleen is far from a cry baby; she was not a wimp. So I knew something was seriously wrong.
“I got arrested.”
“WHAT?”
“I tried to take a t-shirt in the Disney Store. Dan and me both got caught. They took us to a room.”
“Are you serious?”
“Yes, I’m on probation for 99 years in Disney World. If I get caught doing anything else I’ll go to jail.”
Yikes.
Looking back on this now, of course we laugh. Although if she had gotten arrested as a 17-year-old in 2012, they probably would have made a youtube video about it.
So now, we are counting down the clock, until Darleen is able to freely roam Disney World without suspicion. Big Brother will indeed be watching her.
