Daily Prompt: Cliché: I beg your pardon, I never promised you a rose garden

Today’s Daily Prompt: Cliché
Clichés become  for a reason. Tell us about the last time a bird in the hand was worth two in the bush for you.

This is what comes to mind:

couldn't get this pic again if I tried

Ok, so there is not ONE bird in my hand, and there are not TWO birds in the bush, but I do have THREE birds and they are BY a bush. And I could never get this pic again if I tried!

Speaking of clichés, there was a song in the 70’s that was pretty much made up of clichés.

Remember that song?

Clichés are part of our language. Sometimes it’s hard to come up with new ways of expressing ourselves, so we borrow from someone who has already successfully said it!

yada, yada, yada……
