So I hit the brakes, but the car didn’t stop.

It was a dark and stormy afternoon. I was driving in a pouring rain storm, on my way home from work.

A truck started to pull out in front of me but he didn’t finish his turn, and he stopped right in front of me. I hit the brakes, but the car didn’t stop; it slid on the wet pavement.

There was oncoming traffic in the other lane, so I couldn’t go around his truck. I closed my eyes, gripped the steering wheel and waited for the crash.

After I waited a moment and there was no crash, I opened my eyes. My car was past the truck. I looked in my rear view window, and saw the truck’s driver with a shocked expression on his face.

I drove home, without a scratch on the car.

** This really happened, I have no explanation except it was a miracle.
