Casting Crowns and the Vet and other stories #Friday

If you’ve read my blog for any length of time, you are aware that Casting Crowns is my favorite band.

My son and I went to JC Penneys to buy his winter coat. Of course I prayed beforehand that I would find a coupon and that prayer was answered and I saved $30.

When we left the store, I dug out a dollar to give to the Salvation Army guy who was ringing the bell. I started chatting with him about cash vs credit and he told me about some scams. I noticed his hat, asked if he was a Vet. Yes. I thanked him for his service and went to my car.

I started the car and pushed the cd in. It was Come To The Well by CC of course. Then I got that little spiritual nudge. You know when God is trying to get you to do something. Just the nudge in your spirit, not in words, but that knowing that you need to do something: give the Vet the cd

But God, it’s my favorite cd and I don’t know what his reaction will be. Blah blah.

So I just did it. I walked over, and told him I wanted to give him the cd and asked him if he knew Casting Crowns. Oh yes! He said. It turns out he knows all the cool Christian bands.

I told him this one is called Come To The Well.

He told me, ” Message received!”

Then it was on to the tailor shop. My son is thin, so when something fits his waist, it’s too short in the arms. We brainstormed some possible fixes for the sleeves. I am looking forward to how that turns out. He wanted a parka with the faux fur around the hood. Just like what was in style when I was in middle school many decades ago.

Then I can home to check my social media. It turns out I WON an Instant Pot cooker. Does this mean I have to learn to cook?๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ

It is now seven minutes past Bailey’s dinner time so you know what I have to do now!

      1. What a wonderful gift during a time like that. I’m glad the Newsboys were there in your time of need, and also for your friend when her mom died. The music, the messages, are meant to be shared far and wide indeed! ๐Ÿ™‚
