DILIGENTLY #Gently

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.    Hebrews 11:6

God tells us many times to diligently seek Him. This brings to my mind pictures of a student, overwhelmed carrying a pile of books. Sweat trickles from their brow.

I believe we are supposed to study the word. But sometimes the stress to grab the concordance, the notebook, and three translations seems unbearable.

Other times, we need to seek the Lord gently. We are told the Holy Spirit is a gentleman.  God certainly possesses the qualities of kindness and gentleness. We are told we should produce this fruit also. The word diligently contains the word gently.

There is nothing wrong with simply quietly sitting, closing our eyes, and gently seeking God.  He is there and He will answer.
