Lord, Save Me!
This is what Peter said after he walked on water. He got distracted by the wind and waves, and started to sink. He yelled “Lord Save Me!”
Walking on water is not an everyday occurance. I think Peter was doing pretty good. He’s the only person besides Jesus that is recorded as having done this.
I’ve heard lots of sermons talk about Peter’s lack of faith that caused him to sink. But let’s pat him on the back for having enough faith to try–and to start out on the journey!
We should also “step out of the boat” when Jesus calls us to do something new. Scary, yes. And when we sink, remember the short prayer, “Lord, save me.” And He will.
