Right on him. I was walking the path around the back yard and I saw the snake slithering by. I had my foot in mid-air and was on the downswing and unable to stop or move away. So I stepped right on him! I felt him squish under my shoe a little, and I quickly kept walking and he slithered away.
Creepy.
I don’t care much for snakes. I know some people like them as pets, but I prefer my dog Bailey.

My snake episode brought to mind a scripture I haven’t thought about lately:
Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
–Luke 10:19 NKJV
If I go with the “everything happens for a reason” philosophy, I can take this as a direct reminder. Jesus gave us authority over ALL the power of the enemy and NOTHING shall by any means hurt me. Maybe temporarily, but not permanently–if we are thinking eternally.
Then I put on a Sid Roth episode, and they were singing about the enemy being “under our feet.”
Don’t you just love those kind of days when there is a central theme that runs through the day, and you know God is talking to you about something specific?
Here’s a song from the archives. Remember BJ Thomas, the guy who sang, “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head?” Here’s a song he did many years ago:
for my email pals, I will embed it here.
(I know sometimes the links are grumpy.)
Well, I am on my second day without the Oxy, my brain is slowly returning. Movement in my arm is MUCH better. I should be able to drive soon. I can’t wait; it’s been over a month. I might drive up and down the neighborhood tonight just for kicks. I live on a cul-de-sac, so this should be relitively safe. I’ll let Mr. Porter ride shotgun. [Uhm, that’s slang for passenger’s side. Yes, you already knew that. 🙂 ]
I didn’t even take any Advil today. Just anti-biotics, and lots of prune juice.
I stepped on a harmless little snake today, and he slithered away.
Cancer is under my feet!
And I guess that’s today’s theme.
Thanks for stopping by!
