Here’s what Mr. Strong* has to say about Grace:
G5485
χάρις
charis
khar’-ece
From G5463; graciousness (as gratifying), of manner or act (abstract or concrete; literal, figurative or spiritual; especially the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life; including gratitude): – acceptable, benefit, favour, gift, grace (-ious), joy liberality, pleasure, thank (-s, -worthy).
I would like to look specifically at “the divine influence upon the heart”. The part of us that wants to do good, and wants to do what is right. The part that wants to help others by taking their pain away, praying for them, bringing them food, or whatever the case may be.
The divine influence lives in us if we are born again, and have made Jesus our Lord.
So then, we need to yield to Him, and leave sin behind.
- *I refer to Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible by James Strong as simply “Mr. Strong”. If you’ve been around a while you proably know that. 😀
